MARY'S MEALS
My passion for education led me to become a volunteer for Mary's Meals, a charity with a very simple vision:
Our vision is that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education and that all those who have more than they need, share with those who lack even the most basic things.
Mary's Meals started in a shed in Scotland in 2002 and now provides more than 2 million children in some of the world’s poorest communities with a nutritious meal every day they attend school. It's still run from the same shed and 93% of donations it receives are directly spent on its charitable activities.
